I like high floor, so passengers have better views over the driver and sceneries. Also it's safer in case of side collision. Your feet are still higher than car roofs... In front we have TV, DVD and Bus entertainment units with original karaoke sockets. In the bedroom there is another TV/DVD combo. |
Ever lasting water supply. Yes, you read it right. We've used water without a shame carelessly since January 2011 and small 60 litre tank is still full. That is because our water treatment plant absorb water from surrounding air and recycle rest of it through multiply stages of UV and Active carbon filters. It really works. No hazzle with waste water tanks, mold building up in fresh water tanks etc. Shower/Toilet have also automatic lights. In emergency situations it is a MUST (driver's number 1 in traffic lights)... Toilet is cassette type with motor flush. |
No need to tow a car behind because this space miracle fits in NORMAL CAR PARKING SPACE. Total lenght is 7 meters, but as long you have some place to put nose over, remaining lenght is under 6 meters, which is the size of standard parking lot. I hear all the time comments like "I can't believe it actually fit in there". You have to see to believe. Well...-both 7 meters long, but Excalibur takes a meter less to park. And has more room inside. A lot more. And no computer controlled (in mercy of-) common rail diesel, which may stop at any time for any reason. Practical life between overhauls for Mercedes is 300.000km and for Hino 2.000.000km (2 million). Which one you like more? Same price. |
Driver has free 360 degree view around the vehicle. All wheels air suspension, power steering, air brakes, air clutch, reversing camera, air suspensioned seat, 2-way adjustable telescope steering column and well synchronized gearbox makes driving light and comfortable. GPS navigation system includes track-detailed Australian wide topographic maps and wireless Internet. Here is the "flight control" on top of DVD player for off-road trips. |
All cabinets have automatic lights. Everything is powered from large 5kW True Sine Wave inverter which run all appliances without the hazzle. Microwave, toaster, rice cooker, hotplate, grill, kettle, vacuum cleaner and full size Samsung air-blower fridge/freezer. 4x 300Ah deep cycle Caterpillar batteries will keep everything running overnight and when you start the engine, the oversized 200A alternator will fill them up again. These aux batteries you can connect / disconnect from vehicles own batteries from the switch on the driver's control panel. Everything is built SOLID. No flimsy, paper-thin caravan style cabinets or walls...-our walls are all 45mm sandwitch type with glossy painted steel sheets on both sides. This gives another advantage, you can extend your fridge magnet collection to the walls. Because they are made from the same material as whiteboards, they are also easy to keep clean. Floor heating is comfortable and powerful enough to keep everything warm even in temperatures never seen in Australia. Summer time over-sized air conditioner keep you cool and fill the water tank at the same time. |
Air suspension, self-cleaning mud and snow tyres with mid engine weight distribution gives Excalibur an excellent handling capabilities on bad roads. 200 liter fuel tank will take you far away if you drive nicely. At 60km/h city speed this 6.5 litre 6-cylinder diesel takes only 12 litres per 100km. Cruising at 100km/h it goes over 17 litres per 100km, though. In the bush it will last 2-5 days, depending of use. |
Bedroom got nearly king size, very comfortable bed. Lots of storage room underneath and drawals. All curtains and bedware are hand made to suit "Royal look". After all, official model name for this bus is Hino Rainbow Royal Saloon... Both sides have 4x 240V sockets for appliances. Also TV/DVD on the left wall for entertainment. Plenty of cabinet room and everything is made to be extra silent even when on the move. Some of us is always sleeping while we drive and as all of us are very light sleepers, any rattling noise is bad.... All side windows openable, also in kitchen and dining areas. Just be aware of wind... |
